John Weddle is Married to Karen Edwards Weddle of Mathiston, Mississippi. They have two children, Andrew and Anna Grace. They are members of Belden Baptist Church. A graduate of Mississippi State University and University of Mississippi School of Law, John began his legal career in 1995 serving his community in private practice and serving indigent defendants as a public defender. In 2002, John was appointed municipal court judge in Tupelo; all the while growing a successful private practice.
After 10 years as judge, John joined the office of the District Attorney in 2012; prosecuting felony crimes all over the District. As an Assistant District Attorney, he served as lead prosecutor for the Special Victim’s Task Force focusing on women and children victims.
In June of 2015, John was appointed District Attorney by Gov. Phil Bryant and was elected to the position the following November.
